You didn’t grow up in a time where dying your hair purple as a privileged suburban teenager and getting body piercings was a new thing, and wearing flannel and mini backpacks and listening to sob rock and watching the most depraved children’s cartoons and being immersed in tons of awesome fad toys marketed towards kids… We played outside on our trampolines, with our Skip-Its, our rollerblades, our scooters, our Moon Shoes. When we went on the computer it was to play a CD-ROM game for a couple hours or play Nintendo before dinner. Pizza Day was the highlight of school, not texting in class. We were old enough to enjoy the boy bands and pop stars that weren’t 13 years old, we had catchy ass rap and hip hop that was more than just “ima jizz in ya eye mothafucka”, and we were coming of age with some of the funniest and raunchiest teen comedies. I cannot keep going. I am a product of 1990 and so proud.
